Workshops are single events that focus on a single theme or subject and can last from one and a half to four hours, depending on the event. The workshop format is a fun, convenient way for students to learn new skills without the commitment that comes with a regular class.
Some of the workshops that are available include:
Cartooning & Drawing – Students draw what interests them while learning to improve their skills in a relaxed, judgement-free environment that welcomes all art styles and ages (12 and up).
Drawing Star Wars – Students build confidence and learn to draw the world of Star Wars by an instructor who’s a real-life Imperial Stormtrooper, a member of a global Star Wars costuming organization. Cool Star Wars trivia and discussions are part of the fun!
Art-As-Therapy: Healing the Spirit – Students use creative techniques such as drawing, painting, or coloring to listen to their creative spirit in order to process traumatic experiences, stress and anxiety (note: the instructor is not a licensed art therapist)
Drawing Hands – Students learn techniques to make it easier to draw hands and fingers in a fun, relaxing environment
Comic Strip Workshop – Students make their own 3-to-5 panel comic strip and learn the entire creative process, from start to finish
Drawing Faces & Expressions – Students learn to draw eyes, noses, mouths and hair in their own drawing style to give their characters distinctive personalities
