Drawing Star Wars

Learn to draw Star Wars from a teacher who lives the Star Wars life

Use the Force to draw your favorite Star Wars ships and characters! This fun class will teach Star Wars fans how to draw the Millennium Falcon, Star Destroyers, X-Wing and TIE fighters, Darth Vader and more, all in a relaxed online environment sprinkled with interesting, little known Star Wars trivia by the instructor, who has been a member of a global Star Wars costuming organization for over 10 years and owns movie accurate Star Wars costumes. There is no pressure to keep up with other students; everyone learns at their own pace. All that is required is a sketchbook, drawing pencils, and a desire to defend the galaxy. Students learn to improve their drawing confidence while having fun at the same time. (Thursdays, 7pm – 8pm)

About the Teacher: Mike Lyman has been a drawing teacher for over ten years in three states, and is a long time member of the 501st Legion, a global Star Wars costuming organization that raises millions of dollars for good causes; the Tampa Bay Squad, of which he is a member, raised over seven million dollars for charity in 2018 through the events in which they have participated.

In this capacity he has organized and managed a large number of high-profile events, such as annual visits to area VA hospitals to thank veterans for their service, as well as Star Wars Day at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, which involved appearances on national television; in the photo below members assemble on field for their television appearance.

All Childrens Hospital Christmas Visit – The video below follows 501st Legion members as they bring cheer and brighten the season of kids enduring the holidays at All Childrens Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Organized and managed by the drawing instructor Mike Lyman, this visit involved almost thirty costumed members and was covered by local television stations.
